Amazon Web Services Worldwide Public Sector (AWS WWPS) initially engaged Intevity to design a dashboard that could track what was a lengthy sales cycle for their worldwide, government customers. In-depth user research, interviews, and an intensive two-day workshop led us to realize that the WWPS team would accelerate and generate more value if it shifted its focus directly to the customer by establishing trust, learning the needs of each buyer, and providing a customized user experience.

For the WWPS team to accelerate large, complex sales, they required more flexible processes that would enable sufficient levels of personalization. Intevity collaborated with WWPS to identify and design a simple, relevant, high-touch framework for interacting with their customers. From there, our team developed a market-ready prototype to validate the new sales approach, then designed and implemented a market intelligence tool to help AWS target and steadily execute against growth plans.

Through this new system and approach, AWS can more easily educate customers, demonstrate value by providing relevant insights, and establish trust through a series of micro-interactions. Intevity also improved the AWS WWPS team’s ability to right-size and quickly adjust customer recommendations. Now, an overall vision, strategy, and roadmap to expand the digital platform for collaborative international expansion, guides the AWS WWPS team.
